“New and Familiar Works – Acquisitions and Donations for the Marta Collection”

Since the founding of Marta, a collection of contemporary art, now comprising around 500 works, has been built up. Building on the original ideas that led to the Marta Museum, the collection stands out with its installation works and those that open up spaces for thought and approaches in the interplay of contemporary art, design, and architecture. In the last three years, thanks to donations and an acquisition, artistic positions within the collection have been deepened with additional works. These are now being presented for the first time.

Marta Herford thanks the donors and the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) for the new additions, which help to further enhance the museum’s core, its collection.
