Unruly Splendor
Design Punk versus Bauhaus

26.05.2019 –
01.09.2019

Gaudy décor, loud colours and curious connections of different style elements – these are the design features with which a new generation of designers emerged at the end of the 1970s in rebellion against the principles of “good form”.

Their daring opulence was aimed directly at the reduced, sober design language of Modernism. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus, we present a central movement of Europe-an design history that still astounds us. At the same time the project goes in search of artistic impulses for the present. At the centre of the exhibition stands the Anthologie Quartett collec-tion, which is today housed in the Archiv der Avantgarden (AdA) in Dresden.
