Pop Music and Video Art

16.07.2017 –
15.10.2017

The visual arts serve many musicians as a source of inspiration and are a mysterious mediator between sound and its visual representation. But particularly in recent years, pop music is also playing an interesting role in video art.

Artists are acting simultaneously as DJs, have their own band projects, cooperate with known musicians and apply a music clip aesthetic in their works. As an atmospheric mediator and mirror of popular culture, the combination of music and moving image becomes a mouthpiece. Between sensuality, coolness and ecstasy, the exhibition shows emotionally charged memory spaces and gripping sound landscapes as social snapshots.
